Call on Regional Energy Systems will be launched at the Nordic Clean Energy Week!

From May 22 - 25, 2018, the ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems (ERA-Net SES) funding initiative will participate at the Nordic Clean Energy Week taking place in Malmö, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark.
It is an excellent opportunity to get to know the ERA-Net SES and learn about its call for RDD projects under its latest focus initiative on Regional Energy Systems (RegSys)! The events related to the ERA-Net SES Initiative will be organized in Malmö, Sweden. Please save the date and find all opportunities to participate and a preliminary agenda below. About the Event

At the Nordic Clean Energy Week politicians, researchers, business and industry will gather to discuss future energy solutions. The event is co-hosted by Sweden and Denmark and takes place next to the Ninth Clean Energy Ministerial and Third Mission Innovation Ministerial (CEM9/MI-3) hosted this year by Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the European Commission and the Nordic Council of Ministers.
On Wednesday, 23rd of May, the ERA-Net SES initiative will launch its first Call for RDI projects on Integrated Regional Energy Systems at the Nordic Clean Energy Week. There will be an introduction to the ERA-Net SES initiative, followed by the official launch of the RegSys focus initiative and its first call. After the official launch, we will provide first-hand information on desirable projects and offer an open space café for exchange and networking. There will be opportunity to co-create projects together and to find potential partners from other countries for the project development. 

Other interesting ERA-Net SES and partner events connected to the call launch will happen on the days before and after: On Tuesday, 22nd of May the National Stakeholders Coordination Group on Smart Networks for the Energy Transition will meet, where national stakeholders are invited to give their input on relevant topics. Further,  the ERA-Net SES initiative will co-host a session during the  Smart Grids Arena focusing on development and deployment of smart grid technologies and solutions as key enablers for a truly sustainable energy system. Next to plenty of other interesting sessions, the ERA-Net SES Initiative will co-host a session turning to the role of smart grids and regional energy systems in reaching the climate goals. This session will open the floor to the potentials and goals of the ERA-Net SES initiative that will be followed-up in the remaining week.

On Thursday, 24th of May, ERA-Net SES Knowledge Community will organize an official Co-Creation session on regional value chains related to the RegSys focus initiative. The session will enable to develop new perspectives, initiate the new Working Group on Regional Value Chains and exchange with the existing ERA-Net SES Knowledge Community Working Groups. 

In the afternoon and on Friday 25th of May, the ERA-Net SES Knowledge Community will organize its Working Group meetings including its new Working Group on Regional Value Chains. There will be content-related sessions and collaboration within and between the Working Groups. Find more information on our ERA-Net SES Knowledge Community here.

Further, the ERA-Net SES initiative will be present with a booth at the Green Exhibition on 22nd and 23rd of May nearby interesting events such as in the Smart Grids Arena and a conference on the role of cities & Regions in the energy transition
