ICT Solutions for Local and Regional Energy Systems

Join the Special Online Workshop on 11 May 2020 for ERA-Net SES and other projects with software architects and ICT solution providers to investigate challenges and further cooperation opportunities within the field of local and regional energy systems.

In 2020, the JPP will launch its new focus area EnerDigit to call for projects that emphasize advanced ICT solutions for the future energy system. In the framework of the EC Horizon 2020 Bridge Initiative, a Taskforce on Energy Communities strives to investigate activities and promote Citizen and Renewable Energy Communities. Such institutionalized initiatives will allow for practically engaging lots of citizens and small enterprises in local and regional energy transition attempts. Various H2020 and ERA-Net SES projects folloe these approaches.

In ERA-Net SES two working groups deal with topics of local and regional energy systems: In "System Architecture and Modelling” experts discuss appropriate architectures for regional energy systems. In "Regional Matters” and its taskforce "Energy Communities” experts for regional development exchange their experiences with establishing energy communities, microgrids and cellular systems.

Objectives

The online workshop will bring together ERA-Net SES and other projects with software architects and ICT solution providers to investigate challenges and further cooperation opportunities in the field of local and regional energy systems. In an interactive co-creation session, participants will outline hardware and software eco-systems that will enable energy communities to prosper and safely contribute to a future efficient and secure energy supply.
