The ERA-Net Smart Energy Systems Initiative contributes with
- funding transnational Research, Development and Innovation projects that emphasize smart grids and/or regional energy systems
- involving associated partners
- establishing a knowledge community.
The initiative deals with the key challenges and topics of the future energy system:
- smart power grids
- integrated regional energy systems
- flexible heating and cooling systems
- smart services
With its calls for project proposals the initiative concentrates the emphasis on specific issues in this set of generic topics.
